This Privacy Policy describes how Sunwaves Facial Studio ("we", "us") collects, uses, and discloses personal information through this website, in accordance with the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).
Information we collect
The only personal information this website collects is what you choose to send us through our inquiry form: your name, contact details, and message. The website has no user accounts and does not otherwise ask for personal information.
How we use your information
We use inquiry details only to respond to you. We do not add you to any mailing list, send marketing email, or sell or share your information for marketing purposes.
Analytics and session recordings
Our site uses PostHog, a privacy-focused analytics tool, to understand how visitors use our pages. This measurement is anonymous by design: no accounts, no advertising identifiers, no tracking across other websites, and location recorded only at city level. Some visits are replayed for us as anonymous recordings so we can see where the site confuses people; anything you type is masked before it reaches us. Recordings are kept for 30 days, then deleted. We honour "Do Not Track" — if your browser sends it, no analytics events or session recordings are captured (your browser may still load the analytics tool's configuration files from our own website, which record nothing about you).
The skin quiz
Quiz answers are never tied to you. We see aggregate patterns, never people, and the quiz does not ask for or store your name or contact details.
Third-party service providers
Appointments are booked through Vagaro, our scheduling provider, under Vagaro's own terms and privacy policy. Our website and its services run on Vercel (hosting), Resend (email delivery to our own inbox), and PostHog (analytics). Some of these providers store data in the United States, where it is subject to that jurisdiction's laws.
Consent
By submitting the inquiry form, you consent to us collecting and using that information to respond to you. You may withdraw your consent at any time by contacting us, subject to legal or contractual restrictions.
Retention
Your inquiry is delivered directly to the studio's inbox by our email provider; the website itself keeps no copy. We keep it there under our ordinary email practice — only as long as needed to respond to you and for a reasonable period afterwards — and we delete it on request.
Safeguards
Personal information is stored in secure, access-controlled systems and protected with safeguards appropriate to its sensitivity.
Your rights
You may request access to the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Contact us using the details below and we will respond within 30 days.
Young visitors
Some of our visitors are teenagers. Our site collects no contact information from visitors, and everything above applies to every visitor equally.
Complaints
If you have a concern about how we handle personal information, please contact us first and we will do our best to resolve it. You also have the right to complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The current version is always published on this page with its effective date.
